There are many different sections and positions to gain employment at the Reptile Park. If you are looking for a position in Reception, Gift shop, Administration or Kiosk please forward us you email with a covering letter and we will keep it on file for when a position arises.
Work within our animal and maintenance sections, Reptiles, Mammals and Birds, Spiders and Cleaning and Maintenance is almost always offered to our hard working and dedicated volunteer staff before being publically advertised. Therefore volunteering is a great first step into the industry!
The Australian Reptile Park’s Volunteer Programme is a great way to gain experience and further knowledge within the zoo keeping industry. Many of the Volunteer Programme participants are involved as part of their University or TAFE requirements to experience what it is like to be a zoo keeper because they have a love of animals or to have fun!
Each volunteer applicant must be able to commit to one day a week, the same day each week, from 8.00am-5.00pm. Applicants must be 18 years of age or over.
Participating in the Volunteer Programme does not guarantee employment at The Australian Reptile Park or within the zoo keeping industry. Once accepted into the programme volunteers are required to pay a deposit of $60 to receive an Australian Reptile Park work shirt and a name badge. This money is held until the volunteer leaves the programme and the shirt and badge is returned.
All volunteers undergo a 4 week trail period during which completion of the Occupational, Health and Safety Manual is mandatory.
Volunteers receive a 50% discount on all purchases at our Kiosk.
