to EXPLORE the wonders of wildlife!

We’ve got some exciting news for 8-12year olds! Our Little Kids 2 Keeper program is guaranteed to entertain and educate kids who are itching to get a behind the scenes look at a day in the life of a zoo keeper. This fully escorted workshop offers exclusive behind the scenes access that enables kids to explore the wonders of wildlife. Kids will meet a keeper and gain an insight into how they spend their day, learn interesting and fun aspects of zoo keeping such as studying animal behaviour, enter an animal’s enclosure, learn how to handle an animal and take a guided tour of our "off display" reptile and venom rooms.

Highlights include:

Learn about health checking animals which includes weighing live snakes or star tortoises
Feed a variety of reptiles
Learn how animals imitate their natural behaviour through enrichment by box feeding our Tasmanian devils and parrots (subject to availability)
Hand feed animals including wallabies and Australian birds.
The show-stopper on warm days is washing the massive shell of Hugo, our giant Galapagos tortoise and turtle fishing!

The workshops run throughout the holidays from 12pm - 4pm on selected days and cost $70 per child, which includes Park entry, afternoon tea and a take home information kit . We'll be running workshops during the winter school holidays and gift cards are available! Just call the front desk team on (02) 4340 1022 to book.
