  For Aspiring Zoo Keepers

          to explore the 

     wonders of wildlife!

We’ve got some exciting news for 8-12 year olds! Our Little Kids 2 Keeper program is guaranteed to entertain and educate kids who are itching to get a behind the scenes look at a day in the life of a zoo keeper. This fully escorted workshop offers exclusive behind the scenes access that enables kids to explore the wonders of wildlife. Kids will meet a keeper and gain an insight into how they spend their day, learn interesting and fun aspects of zoo keeping such as studying animal behaviour, enter an animal’s enclosure, learn how to handle an animal and visit our "off display" reptile room.

JULY activities include:

• Meet our baby dingoes and groom them
• Get hands on with some of our amazing reptiles
• VIP viewing of our cranky crocodile 'Elvis' being fed - it's like your very own private show!
• Walk our adorable young wombat
• Learn to build a possum box and meet one up close
• Scrub the shells of our little star tortoises - they love it!
• Learn snake safety and how to bandage a bite
• Plant native flora for animal shelter and food
• Learn about our Tasmanian devil conservation project - Devil Ark 

The workshops run throughout the School Holidays from 12pm - 4pm on selected days and cost $70 per child, which includes Park entry, sandwich, drink and a take home information kit ! We run workshops during every school holidays and gift cards are also available.

If you're a parent and would like to stay in the Park while your child attends Little Kids 2 Keeper, we're happy to offer you the discount rate of $19 per person. *NOTE: all tours are capped at 16 children.

My two boys joined in on Friday morning and had an absolute ball,  I saw them   several times during their program time and they were having a great time.  They loved the hands-on activities and the special access they were given in the reptile area.  They had a great time with the two keepers who were very friendly and enthusiastic with the kids and very friendly towards the parents as well.  Well done to the Reptile Park for running such a special program to educate and involve our kids in the park’s day to day practices and maybe even inspire the next generation of park rangers and keepers.
