Meet our puppies. Help protect wild dingoes.

Important Information for Participants

This Winter Wonderland, families can get closer to one of Australia’s most fascinating native animals with a special dingo puppy encounter or photo session at the Australian Reptile Park.

They may be small, playful and full of puppy energy, but Snickers, Honey, Coco, Pretzel, Indy and Lucky have a much bigger story to tell.

Dingoes play an important role in the Australian landscape. As native wild canines, they help keep ecosystems in balance and are an important part of Australia’s natural heritage. Through every dingo puppy experience, visitors can enjoy a special family moment while helping support real conservation research.

Meet Our Puppies

Say hello to Snickers, Honey, Coco, Pretzel, Indy and Lucky.

These six adorable dingo puppies are full of personality, curiosity and puppy energy. Whether they are tumbling over each other, exploring new smells, chasing toys or settling in for a snooze after a big play, every visit is a chance to see them doing something memorable.

Their proud parents, Chilli and Bandit, are much-loved dingoes at the Australian Reptile Park and were named after characters from Bluey. To keep the family theme going, the puppies have been given names inspired by the Bluey universe too.

They are intelligent, social animals with strong family bonds. Puppies learn through play, scent, sound and body language. In the wild, those skills help them grow into important members of their pack and their environment.

Dingoes also play an important role in the Australian landscape. As native wild canines, they help keep ecosystems in balance and are an important part of Australia’s natural heritage.

At the Australian Reptile Park, the dingo puppies are not just adorable. They are ambassadors for their species, helping families learn that dingoes are more than cute animals to cuddle.

How Your Visit Helps

A special moment with a bigger purpose.

Meeting a dingo puppy is a moment many families will remember long after the school holidays are over. It is also a chance for kids to learn about one of Australia’s most fascinating native animals and the challenges dingoes face in the wild.

In the wild, dingoes face serious pressures including habitat change, misunderstanding and control methods such as baiting. Research plays an important role in building a clearer picture of wild dingo populations and strengthening the case for informed conservation decisions.

A portion of dingo puppy encounter and photo sales supports conservation research connected to the Australian Reptile Park’s Barrington Tops project.

This research includes scat analysis, which studies wild animal droppings to help experts better understand dingo genetics, population health, movement patterns and where dingoes are present in the landscape. It is a simple clue from the bush that can help build a clearer picture of how wild dingoes are surviving and what they need to be protected.

By booking a dingo puppy encounter or photo session, visitors are helping turn a fun family day out into meaningful wildlife research.

Families can also choose to add a $1 dingo conservation donation when purchasing day pass tickets online. This gives every visitor the chance to support the project, even if they do not book a dingo puppy encounter or photo session.

As the puppies grow, they will remain with Chilli and Bandit until they are old enough and ready for the next stage of their journey. Carefully arranged forever homes have already been secured for them when the time comes.
