Baby Animals Celebrate First Christmas!

Celebrating their First Christmas

Date Published: January 23, 2023

With just two nights left before Santa’s arrival in Australia, excitement is building—not just for kids, but for the adorable baby animals at the Australian Reptile Park. A heartwarming new video shared by the park features the young animals born in 2023 enjoying their very first festive season at the beloved Central Coast wildlife sanctuary.

Among the stars of the video are Poppy the wombat joey, Stanley the Tasmanian devil, Rupert the young koala, Linguini the ringtail possum, and several other charming joeys who’ve brought extra joy to the park this year.

Daniel Rumsey, Head Keeper at the park, shared his enthusiasm: “The holiday season is a big deal for us and our animals. We wanted to make their first Christmas extra special, and I really think we nailed it!”

While the Australian Reptile Park is closed to visitors on Christmas Day, a team of dedicated staff still comes in to care for the animals. “Even on Christmas, it’s important for us to be here with them,” Rumsey added. “They’re just as much a part of our family as anyone else.”

Families visiting during the school holidays can meet all the baby animals featured in the video. These holidays, the park is taking guests back in time with a special event called Jurassic Zoo! Throughout the park, visitors can encounter life-like dinosaurs including a Tyrannosaurus Rex, Indoraptor, and Pachycephalosaurus during daily interactive walks—bringing prehistoric creatures to life for both kids and adults to enjoy.
