Science Week at the Australian Reptile Park

15 - 23 August

See science in action during a live snake milking demonstration at the Australian Reptile Park’s Weigel Venom Centre.

Visitors will watch experienced keepers carefully collect venom from some of Australia’s most dangerous snakes and learn how this important work helps save lives. The demonstration includes an easy-to-understand talk about the Australian Reptile Park’s antivenom program, how snake venom is collected, and how it is used to help create lifesaving antivenom.

Guests will also discover what venom does, why different snakes have different types of venom, and how keepers work safely with these incredible animals every day.

This daily demonstration is a fascinating way for young scientists and curious families to learn about snakes, venom and the science behind antivenom.
